Watch Repairs

Mechanical Movements

Every watch has a different story so will have different requirements. That’s why our specialist watchmaker is trained to look at watches of any age, regardless of brand or type and will do everything to help restore it. Certain watches may be returned to the manufacturers to undertake a repair, while others will be managed by our own technician. The many other watch brands Gold Arts is able to repair via our independent watch maker an estimate can be provided as it can depend on how much work is needed. These repairs will have a standard 12 month guarantee for any fault found with our work.

We are authorised service agents for our watch brands Tag Heuer, Zenith, Raymond Weil and new exciting brands such as Bremont and as such always recommend using their skilled workshops to maintain the integrity of your timepiece. There are standard pricing structures in place and we can advise you on this while giving more details on the time and guarantee period – Contact us

Batteries

We also offer in house battery changes on watches, straps and spares. As a battery can run out at any time, so if your watch is battery-powered, we advise that you replace it every 12 months to two years. When you leave your watch for a new battery we first replace the old battery, making sure it hasn’t leaked and damaged the movement. Then examine the general condition of the movement and advise if a service would be needed.

Mechanical Watches

A mechanical watch is made up of hundreds of tiny parts, many of which are in constant motion. Because of this, they’re subject to wear and tear. But with regular care, your luxury timepiece will keep ticking for years.

We recommend servicing a new watch every three to five years, even if it still seems to be in perfect working order. This is because lubricants that prevent friction and possible damage to fragile inner components break down over time and need replacing. Some repairs are time-consuming, so we will always advise you on the cost and approximate delivery time. When servicing a mechanical watch, our watchmakers perform an exhaustive series of checks to make sure your watch returns to you in peak condition.

Quartz Watches

Quartz watches don’t have as many moving parts as mechanical watch movements, but they still require routine maintenance. So we would still recommend a regular service to maintain your precious time piece.
