Pre-owned Cartier Pasha Quartz Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch, 2324

Borne from the '80s, the Pasha de Cartier is widely-rumoured to be inspired from the House of Cartier's special piece for the Pasha of Marrakech in the '40s. Sized unisexually at 36mm, the piece was originally developed for men but has developed a cult following in femme fashion due to the superbly graceful execution from the House in this range.

This pre-owned piece features a striking chequered dial that almost reminds me of that Burberry-adjacent haute-fashion aesthetic - which makes sense when you remember that this is not just a timepiece, being from Cartier it is a fusion of their jewellery and fashion sensibilities. Skills that the House has developed in other arenas have definitely been given free reign to implement themselves in the execution of this piece. Distinguished by an elegant round case, the piece enjoys some very nice design language with a unique crown cap over the traditional Cartier cabochon sapphire gem crown. The bracelet is a great suit with this piece, adding some balance to the elegance of the case with a robust feel and squared off links, a really good synergy arising from the interplay of those traditionally non-complementary design elements - what can't Cartier make look good?
